The IDU Executive in Helsinki on 19 April 2013 adopted resolutions on the Presidential elections in Venezuela and North Korea's nuclear testing and military threats.

On the Presidential elections in Venezuela the IDU calls upon the Venezuelan Electoral Commission to abandon any intention to recognize results until the recount and audit of 100 percent of Venezuelan voters is completed – both in the country and from the Diaspora.

In a statement on North Korea’s Nuclear Testing and Military Threats the IDU condemns in the strongest terms the nuclear test conducted by North Korea (DPRK) on 12 February 2013 in violation and blatant disregard of relevant United National Security Council resolutions. The IDU urges the DPRK to stop any further military threats to the world and become a responsible member of the international community.
