
Per-Kristian Foss MP is Vice President of the Norwegian Parliament, IDU Vice-Chairman and Chairman of the European Democrat Union (EDU).
Mr Foss was born in Oslo on the 19th of July 1950. From 1973 to 1977 he was the leader of the Norwegian Young Conservatives. He has a cand.mag. degree in political science, public law and criminology from the University of Oslo (1977) and partial graduate studies in political science. Mr Foss was a member of the Oslo City Council from 1971 to 1975.
Mr Foss has been a Member of the Norwegian Parliament since 1981, having previously served as Deputy Representative during the term 1977-1981. He currently serves on the Standing Committee on Scrutiny and Constitutional Affairs.
In 2001, Mr Foss became Norway’s Minister of Finance, an office he held until October 2005. Mr Foss was Deputy Chairman of Hoyre (the Conservative Party of Norway) from 2002 to 2008.
