Henrique Salas Römer is President of IDU Member Party Proyecto Venezuela and former Governor of the State of Carabobo.
He was first elected to the House of Represenatives in 1993 and served as Chairman of the Income Tax Commitee, as a member of the Finance Commitee and lead the Special Commitee Investigation into the Venezuelan banking crisis of 1994.
He was first elected as Governor of the State of Carabobo in 1995, and was re-elected in 1998 and 2000. After losing the election of 2004 he was succesfully returned as Govenor again in 2008 and served as governor from 2008 to 2012.
Son of 1998 Presidential Candidate and former Carabobo Governor Henrique Salas Römer, he was born in 1960 and educated both in Venezuela and the USA. He holds degrees in Economics and in Industrial Relations and Human Resources. In 2005 he was made a World Fellow of Yale University.
Before entering politics he worked from Chase Manhatten Bank and IBM. He is married with three children.
